SECURITY DIVISION DIRECTORATE
The division is headed by a Director of Security Services (DSS). Other members of staff includes: Chief Security Officer (CSO), Deputy CSO, Principal Security Officer, Security Supervisors, Assistant Security Supervisors, Senior Patrolmen.
The Unit provides 24 hr. security services on both Campuses, and in the Vice Chancellor’s Lodge, University guesthouses and other Principal Officers’ residences. The unit also co-ordinates its activities with other security agents, like the police force, the S.S.S., the Military, Immigration Services, Customs, Nigeria Prisons Services etc.
The students should report any incident promptly to the security unit at any time. Where they have doubts on security issues generally, they can contact the Chief Security Officer or any of his officers for advice. The students are advised to carry along with them their I.D. cards, either within or outside the campus to be produced to the security staff or any security agent outside the campus and any other person who may demand from them to identify themselves.
Students are strongly advised to be security conscious and to avoid any act capable of threatening the peace of the Campus. They should avoid any form of association with secret cults or bad groups. Any Student suspected to have come from another institution to cause trouble on the Campus should be IMMEDIATELLY reported to the University authorities as the necessary actions will be taken.
