THE FACULTY OF ADMINISTRATION
HISTORY

The faculty of Administration in Nasarawa State University came into being in the year 2002. The rationale behind the existance of the faculty is based upon the need for developing an appropriate administrative framework in Nigeria. However, the need for training young men and women in undergraduate studies of Accountig, Business and Public administration provided additional justifications.

MISSION AND VISION
The faculty cater for the diverse academic interests of the students and prepares them for the variety of job opportunities and tasks which they may be confronted with in later life.The programme provide a comprehensive exposure to the dynamics of administration and management for the well being of the individual and the society with the aim of producing readily adaptable essential manpower for the public and private sectors of the economy. The Faculty visualizes being a world class of management.

PHILOSOPHY
The general philosophy is to develop the mind, impart both theoretical and practical knowlwdge on individuals to develop self confidence, be innovative and self reliant.The various departments in the faculty guide and encourage students to cultivate and refine their departments for identifying, defining, analizing and solving the administrative problems in the society.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Admission procedure is as specified by the university authorithy.However candidates normally obtain admission into the faculty either through UME or DIRECT ENTRY. Candidates seeking admission through UME must have five credits in five ordinary subjects including English and Mathematics.These must not be combined in more two sittings. In addition, specific departmental requirements must be complied with.

Candidates for Direcrt Entry admission must have five credits, two of which must be at advanced level or four credit passes,three of which must be at advanced level. Credit passes in ordinary level are required in English and Mathematics. IJMB may also be accepted for Direct Entry admission. However, in all cases, candidates must also satisfy specific departmental requirements for admission.
